For Mother Earth, We Do What We Can

The environment matters to us and our guests at The Fireside Motel. Our decisions to provide the very best in guest services also means that we find eco-friendly solutions to reduce our impact on the environment.

For guests who drive electric vehicles—a great choice for reducing your environmental footprint!—we’ve installed a standard EV charger in The Fireside parking lot. Guests can make a charging appointment at the front desk or by calling ahead. At our sister property, Overleaf Lodge & Spa, we’ve installed a standard EV charger and one for Teslas also, which are also available to guests of The Fireside. We plan to install more chargers in the future on both properties.

Inside The Fireside, you’ll notice little things, too. In every bathroom, we’ve installed automatic soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers, instead of single-use containers, to reduce the use of plastic. A blue recycling bin can be found in each guest room for the disposal of plastics or cans, which we properly recycle after check-out.

Saying no to plastics? Refillable water flasks with The Fireside Motel logo make great eco-friendly keepsakes and can be purchased inside our gift shop, Village Gift Gallery.

Outside The Fireside, we care deeply, too. We make annual contributions to View the Future, a Yachats-based nonprofit that maintains the 804 Trail adjacent to The Fireside. Guests of The Fireside make voluntary donations to this nonprofit, $1 per night of their stay.

We also make annual contributions to the Cape Perpetua Collaborative, which is dedicated to fostering the conservation of the Cape Perpetua area through research and education. South of us, Cape Perpetua is a stunningly beautiful and ecologically diverse marine landscape that is truly worthy of perpetuation. Guests at our sister property, Overleaf Lodge & Spa, voluntarily donate $1 per night of their stay to the Collaborative, too.

Together, we are making a real difference for the environment!
