Father's Day

Dads Deserve An Oceanside Escape, Too

Any day is Father’s Day at The Fireside Motel with plenty of wonderful ways for Dad to relax and unwind during his stay.

  • See the great outdoors. Low tide is a great time to explore the local tidepools or walk the long stretch of sand to the north of Overleaf Lodge where the 804 Trail ends at beach access. Very pet-friendly! By staying at The Fireside, you’re contributing to View the Future, important stewards of this trail. If a scenic drive is more your speed, head to the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area, south of Yachats, to see some of the Oregon coastline’s classic formations: Devils Churn, the Cape Perpetua Overlook, Thor’s Well and Spouting Horn.
  • Uncork a bottle of wine or pop open a beer. Visit the Village Gift Gallery in our lobby to pick a bottle of Oregon-made wine. We’ve got reds, whites and sparkling varieties. Logo glasses are available for purchase (they make a great keepsake!). Or find a selection of craft beers inside our guest pantry. Enjoy your beverages inside your room.
  • Pick the perfect picnic. Order 24 hours in advance from our selection of thoughtfully curated picnics, which include wine or beer and a variety of snacks, many of them produced in the Pacific Northwest. There are nonalcoholic options, and you can even build your own basket!
  • Destress next door at Overleaf Spa. From warm water soaking tubs overlooking the ocean to a special facial designed especially for men, Overleaf Spa is a great, conveniently close place to fully relax. Spa day passes allow you to use the spa amenities, including the soaking tubs. Or make an appointment for a signature treatment, such as a deep tissue massage to soothe areas of chronic pain.
  • Enjoy s’mores by the campfire. Our summer tradition is back on select weekends for guests of The Fireside. Campfires start at 6:45 p.m. at the Fire Circle just north of the Overleaf Lodge & Spa and burn until 8:30. Get to know other guests while taking part in this favorite summer pastime.
  • Play some horseshoes. Ask the front desk for our horseshoe set and then play a game at the most picturesque horseshoe pits, we think, anywhere, just west of our parking lot.
  • Kick your feet up. Sometimes the best thing to do is to stay in your room, especially if you’ve got an ocean view and a balcony. Don’t feel like eating out? Order takeout from a Yachats eatery and savor the meal (and a glass of wine) on your balcony.
  • Save it for another time. We also have gift certificates for purchase for The Fireside Motel and for Overleaf Spa!
