MEET OUR PET OF THE MONTH

Izzy

Izzy had so much fun. It rained a lot while we were there, so she spent time watching out the window and hanging out on the balcony in between walks. Our last day was sunny. We enjoyed several walks on the 804 Trail. What a perfect place for a dog.

Amos

Amos is my service dog. He is truly a gift from God. We really loved our time at The Fireside. We loved to sit on the porch and watch the ocean and all the people/dogs walking by. Thank you for being dog-friendly.

Maeby

Maeby loved exploring beautiful nearby sites like Cape Perpetua, being adored by everyone who met her, and being allowed to share the bed with us … the awesome provisions provided by Fireside Motel made her feel right at home. Maybe next time we’ll bring our human kids, too!

Lilly

From agate hunting on the beach to watching whales pass by during sunset and playing fetch during sunrise, Lilly had the “bestest” time. 10/10 paws up!

Phoebe & Madden

They loved to walk on the walkway along the ocean right near my oceanfront room. We took walks in both directions and it was so scenic and the dogs loved it.

Chloe

Chloe just loves The Fireside! She loves how quiet it is and loves to people watch from the deck!

Enzo

While staying at The Fireside, Enzo loved walking the coastal trail and exploring along the never-ending stretch of beach. We will be back!

Lizzie

Lizzie is an indoor cat but she loves to lounge and look out at the ocean and at people and dogs passing by. She’s already asking to go back to The Fireside!

Finn

Finn loved his stay at The Fireside! He got to climb rocks, investigate tide pools, frolic on the beach…and he even got a treat or two from the front desk! He can’t wait to return!

Shankly

Shankly was super excited to walk the trails outside The Fireside Motel. He visited in January and loved the easy trail access. He also sat and watched storm waves.

Daisy

Daisy loved making new friends during her stay at The Fireside. Here she is having a contemplative moment on the bench after enjoying a wild rumpus on the beach.

Tawni

Tawni loved it at The Fireside, with plenty of space to explore, fresh ocean air and lots of friendly faces. She was so happy after walks on the 804 Trail, she’d just curl up and nap to the sound of the waves. She gives it a 10/10 tail wags!

Bubba and Chase

They greatly enjoyed staying at The Fireside. Bubba and Chase are still kittens and are learning to travel and be on leashes!

Tully

From Central Oregon, Tully loves trips to the coast! He likes to relax on his bed in his room at The Fireside and enjoys the view outside.

Harley

Harley is from Las Vegas and doesn’t get to explore beaches very much, so she just loved all the new smells during her stay. She also loved all the friendly staff at The Fireside!

Bacon & Pork Chop

This was the second time Bacon and Pork Chop have visited! They love walks along the bluffs, meeting new friends, and watching the waves and sunset from the balcony. They can’t wait for their next stay.

Jethro

Jethro was our companion at The Fireside since 2010. He loved balls and frisbee on the beach, running in the wind or rain and watching from the balcony. His last visit to The Fireside was the end of January 2024, two weeks before he died.

Daphnee

It was Daphnee’s first time experiencing the ocean! She had a great time watching the waves and birds from the balcony. She explored the beaches and met a ton of other friendly pups!

Bear

We travel the Oregon Coast and beyond and love stopping in Yachats. Bear really enjoyed our stay and we look forward to more!

Murphy

Murphy recently enjoyed his third visit to The Fireside Motel. He remembered his past visits and quickly settled in. Murphy even remembered where his starfish squeaker toy came from in the gift shop! He has become a great traveling companion.

Jaiya

A lot of sand for small legs but spirits stayed strong! Jaiya enjoyed fetch on the beach until face planting into his water dish. Then we carried him back to his room for treats and sunset views. He looks forward to his next beach trip!

Amber

Amber is a 3-year-old Golden Retriever who enjoyed lying on the bluff bench near The Fireside, watching the waves with her best friend, Byron.

Yogi

Yogi loves going to the beach and hotels. On a recent trip, he especially loved the comfy beds at The Fireside and taking the 804 Trail to the beach!

Addie

Addie loved her stay at The Fireside. It was her first time seeing the ocean, and she loved all the people and other dogs on the 804 Trail!

Freddie

During a recent stay at The Fireside Motel, Freddie enjoyed his first agate hunt at Bob Creek Wayside, a popular agate site just north of Yachats! We hope Freddie found what he was looking for.

Hazel

Fireside is Hazel’s favorite place to stay at the beach!

Mya

Mya loves to play with her ball on the beach during her visits at The Fireside!

Allie

This is Allie, our Golden-Irish mix, and Sandy during our stay in Room 23 recently. Allie loves to walk the trails, run on the beach and surf!

Penny

This darling kitty loved staying at The Fireside. She especially enjoyed the secluded path just outside the door and the warm welcome everyone gave her!

Emmy

Emmy loves the Oregon Coast and staying at The Fireside Motel. Our balcony was ideal for Emmy to watch all of the excitement of ocean, birds, and people walking along the trail. She loved the warm welcome she received from Sheila and Heather (especially the treats they kindly asked if they could give her).

Jozy

Jozy loves visiting the Oregon coast and staying at The Fireside. We enjoyed exploring the nearby trails at Cape Perpetua and taking in a beautiful sunset.

Quincy

Quincy is our fifth dog and he is a half-feral rescue dog. He has slowly been warming up to people. He absolutely LOVES coming from Colorado to visit the ocean. His nose rules his brain and he’s always on the lookout for things to chase. Our grown children are the fourth generation, on both sides of the family, to visit Yachats.

Max

One of Max’s key words is “beach”, he loves to go to the beach. Walking anywhere is a joy for him, and always with a huge smile. The 804 trail is such a scenic gem, and has so much for him to explore, and goes right onto the sands where he gets to run figure eights.

Toby

We stayed at the Fireside with our 6 month old puppy Toby! This was his first trip to the coast and he loved his stay.

Westley

Barry

Barry, Toni and Donovan had a great time exploring downtown Yachats on their sunny weekend getaway to The Fireside. Here’s Barry hanging out at Beach Street Kitchen down the road!

Emma & Mia

Emma and Mia came to visit us recently and their mom snapped the perfect shot of them on the beach together!

Tiabeanie

Tiabeanie, aka Bean, came to visit us with her parents and she loved getting to watch out the window, cuddle on the bed and walk the 804 trail!

Gabe

Gabe loves his visits to The Fireside. He enjoys cuddling up next to the fire and watching the ocean from the balcony. The Fireside team always makes him, and us, feel special while we are there.

Remi

Remi loved the Oregon Coast and The Fireside. As a puppy it was her first vacation. This picture was taken on a trail at The Fireside! It was an amazing day.

Crosby

Crosby couldn’t get enough of the sea and loved watching it from our deck! Early morning walks along the cliffs to the beach were our favorite, followed by a visit to the lobby for ear scratches from the friendly staff. Truly retriever paradise!

Kona

Kona loved her first stay at The Fireside! She especially liked the deck that was made just for a little Jack Russell Terrier to stay safe and secure, but still be able to enjoy the ocean view and all the sniffs. How thoughtful!

Buddy

This was Buddy’s first trip to the Fireside Motel, but it won’t be his last. He enjoyed walking the 804 Trail and the great view of the ocean from the deck of our oceanfront room. He can’t wait to come back again!

Sadie

Sadie loves the beach!

Doogie

Here’s Doogie chillin in the Tufted Puffin Room after a long romp on the beach. He has enjoyed his stays at the Fireside several times.

Jesse

The Fireside is a cozy, friendly inn with incredible views and great walking paths. Jesse loves taking us out for strolls.

Finn

We stayed at the Fireside this past October and witnessed one of the best Sunsets I’ve ever seen. Finn loves the beach & has the best time whenever we go!

Arty

Arty loves to take his mom on walks!

Olive

Olive is a 10-month Corgi and this was her fist time staying in a motel. She enjoyed digging in the sand and meeting other friendly dogs along the trail. She can’t wait to come back!

Cicada

Cicada loved watching the waves crash against the rocks and people out walking their dogs.

Ruger

This photo was Ruger’s first trip to the Fireside at 5 months in August 2021. He celebrated his first birthday with us in April. Happy Birthday Ruger!

Brick

Brick (pictured) and his doggie buddy, Marlin, had a fantastic time watching the sunset over the water on our porch after their long walk along the historic 804 scenic trail.
