NATIONAL TRAILS DAY, YACHATS
celebrate our wilderness areas and the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act. At Cape Perpetua there will be native flute performances, guest speakers and interpretive hikes scheduled throughout the day. There will be informational / educational tables and more at the Yachats Commons between 11:30 am and 2:30 pm. (Please see the complete Program of activities.) This event will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of our coastal Angell Job Corps. This organization plays a crucial role in providing education and training for young adults to become productive citizens. As a partner to the Siuslaw National Forest, Oregon Parks, and surrounding communities, the Angell Job Corps has contributed to trail building and maintenance projects since initiating their first community project in 1964, the rebuilding of the Giant Spruce Tree Trail.
